Salix Homes, Salford

Salix were required to generate funding for the refurbishment work of two existing social housing blocks in Salford which hadn’t been updated for several decades to bring them up to the Government’s ‘Decent Homes’ standards.

Q+A secured full planning permission at committee for the delivery of an entirely affordable housing scheme of 108 units across a part 9 and part 11 storey building, alongside ground floor commercial floorspace.

Community consultation with existing residents was vitally important. Q+A co-ordinated and reported on the planning inputs from the professional team, presenting the case to the Council that the development would create a unique opportunity to add to the mix and tenure of housing available in this sustainable part of Salford. The development has now been completed.
